ENGINEERED WOOD FLOORING

ENGINEERED WOOD FLOORING

Strong, Durable Flooring Solution – A Welcome Addition For Any Room

ENGINEERED WOOD FLOORING

The introduction of engineered wood floors have made flooring accessible into all areas of the house. Engineered wood floor is normally made up of three layers. The top layer being solid wood flooring and the bottom 2 layers being soft and plywood which gives board the structure it needs to withstand moisture humidity and minimises the risk of expansion and contraction.

Your typical engineered floor will have a 6mm solid top with 14mm softwood bottom. Engineered wood floors allow the board to be bigger in width and in length and also allow the floor to be finished in ways that solid oak cannot, for example fuming and smoked boards which give the wood a denser and more individual colour as opposed to staining.

Engineered boards also give the option of being able to fit the floor in different ways. The floor can be stuck down to the subfloor, nailed to the sub floor or joists or floating on and underlay. Each house and subfloor is individual and the method of installation is the dependant on the house and the customer
